Postdoctoral researchers (tenure-track)

Ikerbasque offers 20 contract positions for postdoctoral researchers, opened to tenure-track, within any of the Basque Research Institution (Universities, BERC - Basque Excellence Research Centres, CRC/CIC – Cooperative Research Centres, Biomedical institutions and Technology Corporations, among others). The evaluation committee will only consider strongest candidates with excellent leadership capabilities and an outstanding research record.

Candidates can only apply to one of the annual Ikerbasque calls, Research Professors or Research Fellows.

Maximum Duration of Contract:5 years.

Fellows in their 4th year can apply to the Ikerbasque Research Professor call for permanent positions.

Base salary (gross): 30.000 Euros

Eligibility / Minimum requirements:

- The applicants must have their PhD completed between 1/1/2000 and 31/12/2009.

- Promising research track and international experience will be considered.

- One reference or support letter from the PI of the research group, or department or institutions is mandatory. The groups of the UPV/EHU need to have the additional signature of the Vice-rector for Research.

- Researchers with a permanent position in the Basque Country are not eligible under this call.

Evaluation Procedure:

The external evaluation committee is composed of members of the international scientific community.

The evaluation of the applications is based on:

 Scientific merit and research track

 Relevance of research topic and latest publications

 Concordance with Basque research capabilities

 Added Value to research group/organisation and Basque Science Systems
